Get yourself strapped up!

A straitjacket is a formidable piece of equipment.

From old images of patients wearing them in mental institutions, to Harry Houdini escaping from them in electrifying shows, the image of somebody strapped up in a straitjacket is a strong image.

Keeping even the toughest person in a tight embrace they cannot escape, the straitjacket becomes a true bondage experience once you realise that escape is impossible.

When buying a straitjacket, you need to look at some details and its those details that make the jacket either a fun thing to wear to a party or an inescapable item that will hold you long and fast.

The first thing to look for are side loops. The magicians all pull their arms over their heads to try and escape. With side loops the arms are threaded through these and prevent the arms from being lifted high over the head. If both arms are threaded through these loops, chances of escaping using this magicians method are massively reduced down to almost zero. The reason I say zero is a skilful person may be able to get some sort of leverage elsewhere to aid his escape in some way. It's almost, but not completely impossible to escape.

The next thing is something called a pinion strap. This series of straps goes around the bicep of the wearer and straps each bicep to each other at the rear. This extra straps means moving the arms of getting any sort of release from this methodology is as good as impossible. The wearer is incredibly aware of just how screwed they are in not being able to escape as their arms are held almost rigid in place.

The crotch strap is important. A single strap is secure and stops the item being pulled over your head. Two straps make it even more secure and keep the jacket tightly in place. If the straps are all threaded through their loops, getting any sort of traction on them to help escape is a tough ask.

At Leatherprison we have spent many many hours not only creating wonderful straitjackets but also wearing them. We know how to make a jacket that binds you and wont give up. We also know how wonderful a straitjacket hug can be for the wearer. Some people report wearing a straitjacket can be one of the most peaceful experiences they encounter. That's until they want out. As we say, bondage is not bondage until you want out and can't.

If you want to find out just how much fun a straitjacket can be, do some reading. John Strickland is a great author who loves his straitjackets and writes about them knowing just how they feel when worn. You can find some of his stories at Bound Editions following this link.
